There have been a lot of interesting things going on here at Lohr's recently, we are in the midst of several major changes. We are now open one more day, we have added several technical advances and we are coming near the end of our renovations.
Ever since David Jr. and I took over Lohr's in 2003, we have always been closed Tuesday nights. However, recently we started opening Tuesdays for what we call "Crabby Tuesdays." This is a night when we serve our crab specials. Each special comes with your choice of two sides and only costs $10.95. The specials include; Two All Lump Crab Cakes, Crab Imperial, Crab au gratin and soon Crab Parmesan.
Tuesdays are not the only exciting thing going on at Lohr's, we have also made several technical advances to our restaurant. We have added a POS system, this will allow our cash register to be run on a computer and make orders more accurate. How the POS system works is; the waiters take your order, type it into the computer, then a message is sent to the kitchen (eliminating server errors and sloppy handwriting), the machine automatically adds up the bill and then it is printed off and brought to your table (you won't have to wait for the server to add up your bills). You can take it to the cash register and then pay. This will make the ordering process more efficient and save errors on ordering.
Another technical advance that has been added to the restaurant is the new website. The Lohr's website is being designed and managed by our own bus boy, Robby Oland. He is working hard to get the website finished on time and on schedule.
Many of our regular customers will tell you that since we bought the restaurant in 2003, we have been doing several renovations to the restaurant. Well, we are coming near the end of all of them, we will however in the near future be adding a patio to the side of the restaurant and extending the kitchen area. So far, the renovations have gone by smoothly and have not effected the customers during construction and we hope the same will happen in the future.
Overall, we are doing good in the progress at Lohr's Family Restaurant and we hope that they will continue to benefit our customers. I personally thank all of our customers for supporting us and coming in to spend time with your families and friends.
